At J.W.P. CORP, our story is rooted in dedication, hard work, and a commitment to excellence. Founded by husband-and-wife team Joseph and Wendy Peters, we began our journey after immigrating to the US, bringing decades of experience in construction and finance to the table. Together, we launched J.W.P. CORP in 2006 with a vision to serve both residential and commercial construction markets.

Initially focused on residential work, we took a major leap forward by joining the MTA Small Business Development Program (SBDP) and entering the Tier 1 Program in 2017. Through this initiative, we received critical training in project management, estimating, marketing, and bonding—tools that helped us grow our business and become more competitive in the public sector.

One of our most notable milestones was being awarded a contract for a subway stair rehabilitation project at Winthrop Street Station in Brooklyn. The project included concrete work, tile installation, stair and handrail replacement, and painting—demonstrating our ability to handle complex, large-scale public works with precision.

Thanks to the guidance and resources provided by the MTA SBDP, we’ve been able to expand our capabilities, strengthen our team, and successfully transition into public sector contracting while creating many more jobs along the way.
